The show Ooze tavern by the bard´s boudoir productions

 

Performing for the Bard´s boudoir productions in Stockholm was such a magical experience! There was so much friendly nerdy energy the whole evening through. I met so many talented and inspiring artists whom I hope to met again someday.

I felt that my song number went well, and the audience seemed to enjoy it! Im really happy that I took my time to rehearse, because it made me feel more confident, and I knew that if something didn´t go as planned I would be able to handle it.

This is how I feel about the whole evening <3 : 

I will continue to focus on my writing in the near future, and I´ll see how much drag I want to do. Just a few things that is meaningful for others and for myself from time to time is still my plan. Changing the way I work with drag is one of the best things I did last year. I want to do more song numbers, and more up the street of  theatre and comedy, and I want to do it all live. This show was definitley meaningful! <3 

Crafting the look for Stockholm

The time is drawing near! The last time I did this act we were only two people and had to do a lot of quick changes. This time I can focus more on the look. There will be a FEW rhinestones and for the headdress I have been experimenting with air drying clay. Excited about how it will turn out in the end. Its time for this carnival prince to put on his face again and head towards new adventures! the show Ooze tavern by the bard´s boudoir will be in Stockholm at the 24th of may. There will be a morning Bazaar at 10-14 with lots of magical stands and I will be preforming among many other talented artists in the evening show at 17:30-21:30.

I´ve finished my first draft to a project who hopefully will become a book one day, so it´s fun to do some drag again for a change! 

I will be posting some pictures from the preparations here in the future. I will do an act which I´ve done before but i´ve been developing it a bit and changed some things to make it better. 

Kings of medeltid Visby 2025

 

It was a true adventure to do the show ´Kings of medeltid´ with Levi Lyst in St.Lars chruch ruin during medeltidsveckan at Gotland. Medeltidsveckan was great to work with. The communication beforehand was so professional and our technician and the volenteers did an amazing job!

I love to take my drag to places where people don´t  nesecarilly expect to see drag. The response from the audience was very positive, and one of my favourite comments were: My smiling muscles hurt all the time and I did not expect to be crying at the end, but I did.

I´ve been going to this historical festival since 2011, so I was so grateful that we got the opportunity to contribute as artists this year. A lot of things have happened since we startet do to a free out doors dragshow in 2023 during the festival (the first time with my drag brother Cocky the cowboy.)

During this process I really found more direction in how I want to work with my drag in the future. I get into a creative flow when I work on concepts where several rehearsals are necessary and I can spend time on writing a script. This takes time and energy but it´s much more worth than stressing to do something in the last minute that I am not proud of afterwards (Done my share of that in the past.) 

I want to mix my drag with jesting, impro theatre and stick to my weird ass comedy-style. I really liked how we had all of our props and costumes at the side of the stage and did a thing about changing in front of the audience. I also want to use my voice more since the live singing went really well during this show. 

I must admit it costs a lot to do things that are outside of trends, gender norms or expectations. As a drag king there is a certain expectation about being a manly man. The same goes for being a non binary trans guy. Never the less I keep expressing femininity both in and out of drag. I guess the joy I feel about being myself weights heavier than the constant misgendering. 

Anyways! For a while I might put my creative energy into writing, and I´ll see when I decide to do a new concept. There are other things in this world than drag, and resting and digesting is underrated.

Im so excited to announce that me and Levi Lyst will be playing our show Kings of medeltid In Visby during medeltidsveckan 2025! This is really a dream come true. We will have the show in St.Lars ruin, a beautiful church ruin from the medieval times. If you happen to be on the festival, the time and date is 7th of august at 19:00! 

I will be posting updates with pictures from rehearsals and news here before the show. I just can´t wait!
